This Royal portable was made in the US in 1931 and is in a wonderful shiny black enamel colour. It has the old classic style glass topped keys with silver chrome surrounds in a vintage off white colour with black coloured letters and numbers. These are all in a very nice condition. The typewriter has the slightly larger pica type face size so types with 10 letters to the inch. This one has a silver plate fixed on the top of the carriage denoting that it was presented to the Rev CN Middleton Evans in January 1934 by his parishioners and friends of the Holy Trinity Church Newcastle Upon Tyne.
It has the Royal logo at the front (slightly faded) as well as the Royal logo and manufacturers patients details on the back. The black gloss paint has a few small marks and scratches and signs of wear and the top ribbon covers have been re spray painted, but is generally in a very good condition as is the silver chrome work.
Its a very nice compact size being 27 cm wide x 28 cm deep x 11 cm high.

There is a wooden carry case with a leatherette covering in a dark chocolate colour which is also in a very good functional condition with some small general marks and signs of wear. It has a working metal brass closures and original leather handle.
This is a highly collectable 1930's vintage typewriter in a good working condition with classic black enamel colour and glass topped keys and would make a wonderful and special gift. It may well have had many church sermons typed on it in the 1930's !
