Typewriter, Rare 1927 Bergundy Royal Portable

£595.00 GBP

This model P Royal portable was made in the US in 1927 and is in a wonderful and rare bergundy colour with the "Alligator" finish. This Royal typewriter has glass topped keys in the classic off white colour and it has the  slightly larger pica type face size so types with 10 letters or characters to the inch.

It has the Royal logo on the carriage, on the front left  as well as the Royal logo and manufacturers details on the back. The original bergundy enamel paint finish has some small marks and signs of wear and discolouration, mainly on the top side edges.

Its a very nice compact size being 27 cm wide x 28 cm deep x 11 cm high.

This typewriter has been professionally serviced, cleaned, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made plain black ribbon on metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on.

We can supply new typewriter ribbons from £7.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of universal ribbons in other colour options. You can either rewind the new ribbon onto the metal spools currently in the typewriter or drop in the new Group 9 spools and ribbon.

It comes with it's original dark red carry case to which we have fitted a new leather handle. The case is functional but does show signs of wear and age.

This is a highly collectable and rather early Model P Royal typewriter in a rare original colour with glass topped keys and would make a wonderful and special gift. We also include a copy of an original general Royal Portable manual.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
