Typewriter , 1964 Olympia SM9 with Dutch Keys

A lovely two tone off white and dark grey coloured Olympia SM 9 typewriter with off white keys , space bar and mint green shift keys and carriage knobs . Olympia was a German brand of typewriter that was known for their great quality and ease of use and this one was made in West Germany in 1964. It has the Olympia logo on the front and the manufacturers details on the back and the keyset  tabulator which is the main difference between the SM9 and the SM8. It  types very well and has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested and a new ribbon fitted. It is in full working order and this one has the slightly larger  Olympia " Pica " sized  type giving you 10 letters to the inch as well has having some Dutch keys.

We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons at £4.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black, blue and purple. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .

This model has a metal casing and the whole front section lifts up to access the ribbon . The SM portables have a reputation as being "the writers " typewriter and this one certainly types very nicely .It does have a few very minor marks to the casing ,but it is generally in a very good condition  . It measures 30 cms by 32 cms by 14 cms high and although classed as a portable is quite heavy. If you are wanting something to carry around a fair bit this may not be the best option , but if you are after a good solid and well made typer this is certainly one to consider.

It comes with a standard Olympia two tone creme and grey carry case which is also in a good condition with just some small marks and signs of wear . The handle and latch to close work well.

We include a copy of an instruction manual . All in all this is a good working Olympia in a lovely condition .

Delivery anywhere within the UK is included in the price.
