The Olivetti Lettera 22 was designed in Italy in 1950 by Marcello Nizzoli and proved to be extremely popular throughout the 1950's winning numerous design awards. It was very portable for the time as it measures 30cm x 30cm x 8cm high and has the usual all metal casing and is in a pale blue/green enamel colour with round black keys and a red coloured tab key. This model was made in Glasgow in 1959 rather than in Spain, Italy or Mexico and has the Olivetti branding on the right side of the carriage and the Lettera 22 logo on top of the ribbon cover and has the slightly larger pica sized type face with 10 letters to the inch.
It types very well with a light touch and is in a very good overall condition with just a few small marks mainly at the bottom of the front edges and some slight discolouration in places.
This typewriter has been professionally serviced, cleaned, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from £9.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of Universal ribbons in other colour options. You can drop these in or rewind onto the metal spools already in the typewriter.
It comes with it's original carry case with a tartan interior. There are some marks and signs of wear on both the inside and the outside. The two zips and two handles work well.
