A fabulous two tone gloss and matt black Continental portable typewriter made in Saxony Germany in 1938 by Wanderer - Werke AG, who were one of the largest office machine makers in Europe between the wars. Their Continental typewriter model is known as being a lovely stylish design and of a high quality of make. It has round glass topped keys with silver chrome surrounds and black letters and numbers. The shift lock and backspace keys are in red. All the keys are in a very nice condition and this one has the standard sized elite type face giving you 11 letters per inch.
It has the Continental logos on the front right as well as on the top of the carriage and the back and there is the Wanderer - Werke logo on the front left. This one is a wonderful model with both the paintwork and the chrome work in an extremely good condition.
This working typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made ribbon onto metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply new ribbons to rewind onto the metal spools from £6.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colours.
The body of the typewriter measures 27cm wide by 29cm deep by 11cm high. It has a black covered wooden case that is in a good functional condition with just some marks and discolouration in places on both the inside and out. The latch and clip work well.
This is a very collectable black shiny enamel Continental working typewriter with lovely glass topped keys in a wonderful condition.
