This is a wonderful Remington Victor S Model 5 Streamline portable typewriter made in the UK from imported US parts in 1937 and is in full working order and in a very good condition for its age. It has a black gloss enamel paintwork finish and the lovely curved art deco inspired body design. It has black keys with creme letters and numbers and silver chrome ring surrounds and a red Tab key and ruler. There is a nice gloss to the black paintwork with just a few very small marks. The top plate has at some stage been repainted. This one has the slightly larger pica sized typeface with 10 letters ot characters to the inch. It has its two original metal spools and the Remington Victor S logo on the carriage.
We have given it a professional clean, service, adjusted and tested it as well as fitting new rubber feet and a new top quality black ribbon so its all ready for you to take out of the box and start typing on. We also include a photo copy of a Remington Portable instruction manual.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from £9.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options. You would then just rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools.
It comes with it's original carry case which is also in a good functional condition. The leatherette covering on the wooden box does have some marks and signs of wear but is all sound. The handle and two metal fittings to close work well.
The typewriter measures 25 cm across by 28 cm deep and 10 cm high.
