This wonderful shiny two tone green enamel Remington portable No 3 typewriter was made in the USA in 1930. This compact model and design was one of the earliest portables on the market and this model has the standard elite sized type face giving you 12 characters to the inch.
It's in acgood working order, types well for it's age and has the traditional dark creme coloured keys with silver chrome surrounds and the letters and numbers in black. The "Remington" logo is on the front in gold as well as on the back. There are some minor marks and small chips to the enamel paintwork mainly on the front corners, the top side edges and at the right hand end of the carriage.
We have given it a professional clean, service, adjusted and tested it as well as fitting a new black ribbon and have replaced the carriage band as well as the front and back feed rollers.
Universal typewriter ribbons can be purchased from us when required .You would then rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools in this typewriter. Ribbons cost from £7.95 including postage and there are a variety of colour options.
The typewriter measures 25 cm wide by 30 cm deep by 8 cm high. It comes with it's original wooden carry case which is sound but showing signs of wear to the covering in places and to the leather handle. The clip to close the cases works well. You can easily take the typewriter off it's baseboard if you wish by undoing the 4 screws.
Please note that if you are wanting to do extensive precision typing then this may not be the best option for you. If however you are after something classic and special on which to do occasional typing then this is a lovely option.
This is a fabulous working 1930's vintage typewriter in a rarer two tone colour enamel finish and a nice portable size. We also include a photo copy of an original instruction manual.
