Imperial typewriters were made in Leicester in England and the Good Companion model was first launched in 1932. It was named after J. B. Priestley's book "The Good Companions" which had been published at the same time and the collaboration with Priestley helped sell a huge number of Imperial typewriters.
This model is a number 7 and was made in 1962 in England and has a two tone salmon pink colour with black keys and creme shift keys, carriage knobs and space bar. It has " Manufactured by the Imperial Typewriter Company Ltd Leicester England " on the back and the Imperial Good Companion logo at the front.
There are a quite a few minor marks and signs of wear to the paintwork of the body of the typewriter, mainly on the corners and edges (see images). This one has the uncommon script typeface in the slightly larger "pica" size giving you 10 letters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new black quality American made ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons when required from £6.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options. You can use the Universal spools or rewind the new ribbon onto the Imperial metal spools in the machine.
It comes with it's original creme Imperial "luxury" carry case which is also in a good functional condition with just some minor marks and discolouration in places on both the outside and inside. The metal closure and handle both work well. There are two sliver buttons on each side of the typewriter which release it from the inside base . We also include a copy of an original Model 7 instruction booklet.
The typewriter measures 28cm by 30 cm by 11 cm high.
This is a wonderful 1960's style typewriter in a good working order in a rarer salmon pink colour and uncommon type face.
