A fabulous 1959 olive green coloured Olympia SM 4 De Luxe typewriter with black keys and space bar and cream and green carriage knobs together with a smart silver chrome trim. This one has the standard " elite " sized type or font that types with 11 letters to the inch.
Olympia was a German brand of typewriter that was known for their great quality and ease of use . It is in full working order and we have given it a clean ,professional service, adjusted and tested it and fitted a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on. The SM 4 's are all metal and beautifully engineered machines giving you a great typing performance. The main difference between the SM3 and SM4 is the tab settings are placed next to the space bar at each end .This one is in a nice condition with just a few very small marks and discolouration in places mainly on the body at the front left hand side . It has the Olympia logo on the front , "Made in Germany " and the London and original selling agents details on the back.
Group 1 typewriter ribbons can be purchased from us we can supply you with plain black, two tone red/black and a range of other colour options on Universal spools .New ribbons are priced from £5.95 including postage .
The typewriter measures 30 cm by 30 cm by 13 cm high and although classed as a portable this is quite a heavy machine and if you are after something to carry around this may not be the best option , but if you want something sturdy , robust and a great typer then this is one to consider .
It comes with a standard Olympia grey coloured carry case . The case is in a good overall functional condition but does have some marks and signs of wear on both the inside and the outside . It has a clasp to close and a working handle. The typewriter can be clipped onto the base . We include a photo copy of an original instruction booklet .
All in all this is a very collectable Olympia SM 4 with a good typing touch.
