A lovely 1951 black coloured Olympia SM 2 typewriter with black keys, space bar and carriage knobs and dark green shift and margin release keys. Olympia was a German brand of typewriter that was known for their great quality and ease of use. This one types in the slightly larger Olympia "pica" sized type face giving you 10 letters to the inch.
The typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made Universal ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
The SM 2 's are all metal and beautifully engineered machines giving you a great typing performance. This one is in a nice condition with just a few very minor marks to the paintwork, mainly on the ribbon cover and at the back. It has the Olympia logo in silver on the right side of the ribbon cover and the manufacturers details on the back.
It comes with a copy of the manual.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons when required from £6.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of coloured options.
It measures 27 cm by 28 cm by 12 cm high and comes with it's original black coloured carry case with green interior. The case is also in a good functional condition with working handle and metal closure. There are marks and signs of wear in places on both the inside and the outside on the leatherette covering but generally its in a good condition for its age.
This SM2 is classed as a portable but is quite heavy and if you are wanting something to carry around a fair bit this may not be the best option , but if you want a well made and solid machine this is one to consider.
