Olivetti Studio 42

£0.00 GBP

A lovely charcoal black coloured Olivetti Studio 42  typewriter made in Italy in 1946 . It has silver chrome rimmed glass topped keys in a lovely condition , with dark creme letters and numbers on black and a red tab key . This one types well and is in a good working condition .It has the  raised " Olivetti " logo in silver on the carriage , as well as the glass panel to the front of the typewriter which has the Studio 42 logo and Olivetti's manufacturers details . We have given it a clean ,service , adjusted and tested it and fitted a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on !

Group 4 typewriter ribbons can be purchased from many online suppliers or we can supply you with new ribbons when required . You would then rewind these onto the original metal spools and then fix the Studio 42 metal hand nuts to each spool .Ribbons generally cost around £4.95 including postage . However a ribbon will last you a long time . To give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months

There are a few minor marks and some discolouration to the matt charcoal black paintwork metal body at various places on the sides and corners . It measures 27 cms x 34 cms x 12 cms and comes in a black case which is also in a good overall condition with only some minor marks and discolouration in places .It  has a working leather handle and the latch works to close it .Please note that part of the carriage lock has been removed at some point so the carriage cannot be locked when in transit.

This is a classic and good working Italian 1940's Olivetti typewriter with glass topped keys .

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
