A wonderful two tone bergundy and red coloured Invicta typewriter made in Italy in 1948 . This is in reality an Olivetti MP1 with the Invicta name and made for the UK or US market . It has silver chrome rimmed glass topped keys in a lovely condition , with creme letters and numbers on black and its original lovely bergundy spool tops covering two metal spools. Its designed to be used with the typewriter fixed onto its carry case base with the back of the typewriter fixed and hinged. You can lift up the front to see the underneath if you wish. This one has had the red colour re painted to produce the two tone effect. It types well and is in a good working condition for its age and has the slightly larger sized "pica" font giving you 10 letters to the inch. It has the raised " Invicta " logo in silver above the carriage.
This typewriter has been professionally serviced , cleaned , adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new Group 9 ribbon on metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on !
We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons from £4.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of universal ribbons in other colour options . You can would then rewind the new ribbon onto the metal spools currently in the typewriter. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.
There are a few minor marks and discolouration to the bergundy enamel paintwork. It measures 27 cms x 39 cms x 10 cms and comes in a black case which is also in a good condition with only some minor marks and discolouration in places mainly to the silver chrome fittings .The original handle has at some point been lost so we have fashioned a new leather handle. It does however come with its original key for the lock.
Please note you can't take the typewriter off its base board as it was designed to be used in this way .
