The Olympia typewriter factory split at the end of the Second World War with new production starting in West Germany under the Olympia brand and the old factory which was in East Germany making under the Optima and Erika brand names . This one was made sometime in the 1970's and would have been one of the typewriters that were made for export . These machines have a good reputation as quality typewriters and for having a nice "touch " .This one is a Mod 32 in good working order and is in a two tone off white and airforce blue colour with charcoal keys . It types well and is in a very good condition with only a few minor marks and some slight discolouration in places. It has the Erika logo on the front and has the slightly larger Erika "pica" sized font giving you 10 letters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested . It is in full working order and is fitted with a new Group 1 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on !
We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons from £4.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of colours. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months .
The typewriter measures 32 cms across by 32 cms deep by 11 cms high and comes with a black coloured hard vinyl case with red interior lining with pocket .The two latches to close and handle work well. The case has some marks and signs of wear on both the inside and outside , but generally it is in a good functional condition.
