1962 Empire Corona

£0.00 GBP

This Empire Corona typewriter was made in 1962 by the British Typewriter Co in West Bromwich, England who made typewriters under the Smith Corona name right up until the 1980's.This Empire Corona is the same design as the Skyriter and has a metal body in a lovely pastel / metallic green colour with creme keys and carriage knobs.

This one is in full working order and types well .It has the standard "elite" sized font giving you 12 letters to the inch.We have given it a clean, professional service, adjusted and tested it and fitted a new ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.

It is in a very good general condition for its age with just a some scratches and small marks to the paintwork, mainly at left side of the ribbon cover from where the carriage lever has rubbed over the year.It has the Empire Corona badge on the top right and the manufacturers details on the back.

Please note that this model takes a one colour ribbon only. You can't use a two tone ribbon with this typewriter.

New plain colour typewriter ribbons can be purchased from us when required. You would then rewind the new ribbon onto the existing smaller spools as these spools are specific to this typewriter.

The typewriter measures 28 cm by 30 cm by 7 cm high and comes with a black vinyl case with a striking red interior lining with pocket. The case closes with a zip and has two handles. The case is also in a good functional condition with some small signs of wear and marks.

This is a lovely and relatively rare working 1960's compact "ultra " portable typewriter in a great colour that doesn't take up too much desk space .We also include a photo copy of the original instruction booklet.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
