This Hermes 2000 typewriter was made in 1957 and is in a stunning pale green colour with mint green keys, carriage knobs and space bar. Hermes typewriters were designed and made in Switzerland by Paillard before production moved to France and then to Brazil. They have a good reputation as wonderfully engineered machines, as you would expect from the Swiss. This one was made in Switzerland and is in full working order and types very well. It has the slightly larger "pica" sized typeface giving you 10 letters to the inch.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new top quality Group 9 TW1 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Group 9 TW1 typewriter ribbons from £7.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of Universal ribbons colours in various coloured options. You can also just rewind new ribbon onto the metal spools that are already in the machine.
It is in a good general condition for its age, with just some small marks and discolouration to the paintwork on the body in places mainly at the back and the hard plastic back left corner piece has had a repair. The silver chrome work is also in a nice condition with just the small paper guide slide missing at the left hand end of the carriage ( this does not affect the function is any way ). It has the Hermes 2000 logo on the front and the Hermes logo and the manufactures details on the back.
We include a copy of an original instruction booklet for the Hermes 2000 showing all its features and giving tips such as changing the ribbon. The body of the typewriter measures 27 cm by 30 cm by 12 cm high and comes with it's original green carry case with an internal file for papers. The case is also in a good functional condition but does have some signs of wear, marks and discolouration mainly to the interior lining. The handle and clasp to close work well, although showing small signs of age related wear.
This is a lovely and well made working 1950's typewriter in a wonderful and very collectable colour and from a great brand.
