This wonderful gloss black coloured LC Smith & Corona Standard Series 2 portable typewriter was made in 1938 in Canada for the UK market.
This typewriter is in working order and in a generally very good condition for its age. It has the traditional Corona style black coloured keys with silver chrome surrounds and the letters and numbers in off white. There is the Corona decal on the ribbon cover and the manufacturers details on the back. This model has the slightly larger "pica" type face giving you 10 letters or characters to the inch.
The typewriter measures 28 cm wide by 30 cm deep and 11 cm high. The metal body has a gloss black paint finish and is in a good condition with just a few small marks mainly on the left side of the ribbon cover on the left hand side of the typewriter.
This typewriter has been professionally cleaned, serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new top quality American made Universal ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.
We can supply Universal typewriter ribbons from £6.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options. You can then rewind new ribbon onto the metal spools now in the typewriter.
It comes with its original case which is fully functional and works well, but does have some marks and wear to the covering over the wooden box. The clasp to open and close it works well and the handle is sound.
This is a highly collectable 1930's Corona Standard typewriter in a lovely condition.
