Typewriter, 1935 Folding Corona 3

This is a wonderful shiny black enamel coloured Corona 3 folding portable typewriter and was made in 1935 in the USA. Corona 3's where made between 1912 and 1941.They have 3 banks of keys with the letters and numbers in black on a beautiful vintage dark creme colour. Each type bar has three letters, numbers or figures, so that the 3 banks of keys cover all the normal keyboard requirements. The keys on this one are all in a nice condition with just some slight discolouration to a few and it has the Corona logo on the front above the keys and "Made in USA" on the back. The black enamel paintwork has a crinkle panel effect on the front and the sides and is in a generally very good glossy condition for its age with just some signs of wear in places and it has had some small touch ups to the paintwork, mainly at the front left side .The metal chrome work is also in a good condition with just some minor wear in places. It has its two original metal spools. The typewriter measures 25cm wide (platen) by 22cm deep and 15cm high, when folded out for use and when the carriage is folded from back to front the whole unit measures 30cm x 22cm x 10cm high and its has the slightly larger "pica" sized typeface giving you 10 characters to the inch.

This one was originally sold by Corona's Aldwych, London agent and has their logo on the enamel back plate under the carriage.

It comes with it's original carry case. The closure fitting and the handle are both working well and the case is in a generally very good condition for its age.

This lovely looking Corona would do well for writing letters, poetry or doing smaller typing jobs as well as being a wonderful display item. For precision typing and larger typing projects this may not be the best option.

This typewriter has been professionally serviced, cleaned, adjusted and tested.It is in full working order and fitted with a new top quality American made Universal ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.

We can supply typewriter ribbons from £6.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colour options. You would then just rewind the new ribbon onto the existing metal spools.
