This Royal portable Model O was made in the US in 1934 and is in a wonderful shiny black enamel colour . It is in an extremely good condition for its age with only a few very minor marks and signs of wear mainly on the front edge . It has the old classic style glass topped keys with silver chrome surrounds in a vintage off white colour with black coloured letters and numbers .These are all in a nice condition with just a few showing signs of discolouration and variance. This Royal typewriter has the slightly larger " Pica " font size so types with 10 letters to the inch. Please note that in some of our images there is some reflection of the map from behind on the black enamel of the typewriter.
It has the Royal logo on the carriage and the front edge as well as the Royal logo and manufacturers patients details on the back .The silver chrome work is also in a nice and good condition. This one has at some stage lost it's two original back feet and we have fitted new ones which are of a different style , but totally functional.
Its a very nice compact size being 27 cms wide x 28 cms deep x 11 cms high .
This typewriter has been professionally serviced , cleaned , adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new Group 9 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on !
We can supply Group 9 typewriter ribbons at £4.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and purple . You can either rewind the new ribbon onto the metal spools currently in the typewriter or drop in the new Group 9 spools and ribbon. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.
There is a wooden carry case with a leatherette covering which is also in a good functional condition with some general marks and signs of wear on both the inside and outside .It has a working metal clasps and handle. You can keep the typewriter on it's base board or take it off by undoing the 4 clips on the base of the case.
This is a highly collectable 1930's vintage typewriter in a lovely condition with classic black enamel colour and glass topped keys and would make a wonderful and special gift . We also include a copy of an original general Royal Portable manual .
