Typewriter , 1930 Royal Portable

This Royal portable was made in the US in 1930 and is in a wonderful  shiny black enamel colour . It is in an extremely good condition for its age with only a few very minor marks and signs of wear . It has the old classic style glass topped keys with silver chrome surrounds in a vintage off white colour with black coloured letters and numbers .These are all in a nice condition with just the age signs of discolouration and variance on some . This Royal typewriter  has the slightly larger " Pica " font size so types with 10 letters to the inch. Please  note that in some of our images there is some reflection of the map from behind on the black enamel of the typewriter.

It has the Royal logo on the carriage and the front edge as well as the Royal logo and manufacturers patients details on the back  .The black gloss paint has a few small marks in places mainly on the top of the carriage but is generally in an excellent condition as is the silver chrome work .

Its a very nice compact size being 27 cms wide x 28 cms deep x 11 cms high .

This typewriter has been professionally serviced , cleaned , adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and fitted with a new Group 9 ribbon on metal spools so its all ready for you to start typing on !

We can supply Group 9 typewriter ribbons from £4.95 each including postage. Available in plain black, red/black and a range of universal ribbons in other colour options . You can either rewind the new ribbon onto the metal spools currently in the typewriter or drop in the new Group 9 spools and ribbon. A ribbon will last you a long time and to give you an idea , in an office environment with someone using a typewriter professionally a ribbon would last them around 3 months.

There is a wooden carry case with a leatherette covering which is also in a very good functional condition with some small general marks and signs of wear on both the inside and outside .It has a working metal clasp and a new leather handle fashioned by us as it's original handle was missing. You can keep the typewriter on it's base board or take it off by undoing the 4 screws on the underneath of the base of the case.

This is a highly collectable 1930's vintage typewriter in a lovely condition with classic black enamel colour and glass topped keys and would make a wonderful and special gift . We also include a copy of an original general Royal Portable manual .

Delivery anywhere within the UK is included in the price .
