Remington Portable

£0.00 GBP

This wonderful Remington portable typewriter was made in the US in 1930 and is in a fabulous two tone enamel colour with a light mauve colour at the front and sides and a darker mauve or purple  colour to the top . It has the Remington logo in gold at the front in the centre and at the back .Its serial number at the back on the right is V338414.

The typewriter is in full working order and in a generally good condition with some marks to the paintwork and evidence of paint touch ups mainly at the front bar , front corners and the top edges at the sides and along the top of the plate above the platen .The silver chrome work does show some signs of wear and has lost its shine , but is totally functional . The keys are all in a very good condition and are all of a beautiful vintage creme colour with silver chrome surrounds and black coloured letters and numbers . This model also has a tab function and has a red tab key  .It has its correct metal spools . We have given it a clean , service and re lubricated  it as well as fitting a new ribbon , so its all ready for you to take out of the box and start typing on . We also include a photo copy of a Remington Compact Portable instruction manual , which although for a slightly different model has many similar features to this one.

The carry case is in a good overall condition .The wooden box itself is sound , but the covering is worn and marked mainly on the outside in places . It does still close and the latch works well , but it is now missing its handle.

The typewriter measures 28 cms across by 28 cms deep and 10 cms high .

This is a highly collectable working 1930's vintage typewriter in a very rare colour and a nice overall condition for its age.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
