Erika Mod 12

£0.00 GBP

A lovely pale pastel green coloured Erika Model 12 portable typewriter with darker green keys, space bar and carriage knobs made in Dresden, East Germany in 1961.Erika was a brand name used by Seidel & Naumann and the same plant was used to restart under the Erika, Optima and Bijou names after the war. This one is a fine example of a wonderfully engineered and made machine and is one of the last they made with a metal body and made to such an exacting standard. This one types with the slightly larger "pica" sized font giving you 10 letters to the inch.

It has the Erika badge on the front and the manufactures details on the back. The ribbon cover swings open and has a wonderful green baize lining.

The metal body and silver chrome work are all in a good condition with just some marks to the paintwork mainly on the top of the carriage. and some small discolouration on the ribbon cover. It types nicely and has been professionally cleaned ,serviced, adjusted and tested. It is in full working order and is fitted with a new Group 1 ribbon so its all ready for you to start typing on.

We can supply Group 1 typewriter ribbons from £5.95 each including postage.Available in plain black, red/black and a range of other colours on Universal spools.

It measures 30 cm across by 32 cm deep by 11 cm high and comes with a smart tan coloured carry case which is also in a very good condition with just some age related signs of wear. The typewriter fits into the base and the cover fits over the top. Both the fastening to close and the handle work well and it has a internal file pocket on the inside of the lid for your paperwork.

We also include a 2 page photo copy of the a Model 12 Erika  instruction manual which has all the features listed and instructions to get the best from your Erika typewriter.

"My Olivetti arrived a couple days ago. Got a chance to test it out and it works like a dream (you wouldn’t guess it was nearly half a century old). Thank you for including the original metal spools, it adds a great touch to the machine. Looking forward to adding another typewriter to the collection sometime soon..." - Jake
